近年来,超构表面(二维平面人工结构)凭借其自由调控波场的相位、振幅和偏振等优势,在波前操控、隐身、成像等方面具有极大的应用价值和发展前景,目前成为超构材料研究领域的前沿热点。本报告主要探讨一类具有相位梯度超构表面在二维平面和三维圆柱波导系统中的波场调控新规律和新现象,重点揭示这类超构表面中的奇偶性(宇称)相关的“光栅衍射新规律”和“光栅衍射新方程”,并以此实现包括角度不对称衍射、多功能反射和轨道角动量不对称传输等在内的一系列新效应以及相关功能器件,为超构表面器件的进一步研究与应用提供新的思路。
报告人简介:
伏洋洋,副研究员,现任职于南京航空航天大学理学院,2018年博士毕业于苏州大学。主要研究方向为电磁与声学超构材料和超构表面、非厄密光学与PT对称等。以第一作者/通信作者(含共同)在Nature Reviews Materials, Nature Communications(2篇),Science Advances, Physical Review 系列,OSA系列, Appl. Phys. Lett.等期刊发表SCI论文40余篇、申请国家发明专利3项。目前主持国家、省部级项目4项。

First, engineering education in Hungary is introduced, the location, the role, and the history of Budapest University of Technology are presented. The lifetime achievements of Theodor von Karman (Kármán Tódor) is summarized, which already leads to the international perspectives of mechanical engineering by means of his best ever student, Tsien Hsue-Shen (钱学森). Karman’s wisdom has an essential effect on many fields and topics of mechanical engineering through the globe from Japan through China and Germany to the United States. The story of the development of jet propulsion predicts the subsequent challenge: space exploration. Two examples are mentioned for research cooperation between our universities. The closing remarks deal with the task of how to attract excellent students to mechanical engineering which seems to remain the driving force for our technological development in the future.

Gabor Stepan教授,匈牙利籍,匈牙利科学院院士,欧洲科学院院士,国际生产工程科学院(CIRP)院士,爱沙尼亚科学院外籍院士,匈牙利科学院科学技术部前任主席,国际理论与应用联盟(IUTAM)常务理事,南京航空航天大学名誉教授,2021年“江苏省政府友谊奖”获奖者。Stepan教授是国际应用力学界的著名学者,曾获美国机械工程师学会 “Thomas K. Caughey Dynamics”奖,匈牙利最高科学技术奖“Szechenyi Prize”等众多荣誉。主要研究领域包括:分析力学(稳定性理论,非线性振动,运动方程);微分方程(分岔理论,时滞微分方程,混沌);工程应用(车轮非线性动力学,机器人振动与稳定性,非平衡稳定点镇定,人体及机器人平衡问题,康复机器人,机械加工,交通动力学)。

In many scientific areas, data with mixed quantitative and qualitative (QQ) responses are commonly encountered with a large number of predictors. By exploring the association between QQ responses, existing approaches often consider a joint model of QQ responses given the predictor variables. However, the dependency among predictive variables also provides useful information for fitting QQ responses. Hence in this work, we propose a novel approach to jointly model the QQ responses by incorporating the dependency information of predictors. The proposed method is computationally efficient and provides accurate parameter estimation under a penalized likelihood framework. Moreover, the asymptotically theoretical results of the proposed method in terms of classification rate and prediction accuracy are established under some regularity conditions. The performance of the proposed method is examined through simulations and real case studies in genetics.

康晓宁,东北财经大学副教授,硕士生导师。本科、硕士毕业于大连理工大学数学系,博士毕业于美国弗吉尼亚理工大学统计系。主要研究领域包括高维矩阵的估计及应用、混合数据建模、半参数模型的统计推断、贝叶斯统计等。曾先后主持和参与国家自然科学基金、教育部人文社科基金、辽宁省教育厅基金等项目。其研究成果已发表在IISE Transactions, Journal of Quality Technology, International Statistical Review, Computational Statistics & Data Analysis等国际期刊上。

We need a new approach to climate policy that puts innovation and adoption of low carbon technologies at the center. Unexpectedly large improvements in low-carbon technology over the past 20 years have made decarbonizing the world economy far more feasible; we can peak emissions soon, rapidly decline to zero, and do so in a way that enhances human well-being. At the same time, three decades of dithering on policy action combined with heightened estimates of climate sensitivity and their human impacts have made the climate problem more urgent. The extent of change required to the world economy is massive and robust public policy is necessary to accelerate sufficient change. Wind, solar, and batteries have improved by a combination of enabling science, supportive policies, and a variety of receptive markets, all of which have led them down the technology learning curve. That has made a transition to a low carbon economy far more affordable, on the scale of trillions in savings over the century. Further, other emerging technologies show strong potential to follow a similar learning curve leading to improved performance and low costs. In particular, electrolyzers, small scale direct air capture, and heat pumps could play central roles in a decarbonized world economy, especially if they improve like solar, wind, and batteries. General purpose technologies such as digitalization and synthetic biology can enhance these systems. I argue, we should focus our policy efforts on improving and adopting these technologies. The goal should be to expand the set of choices we will have in the future rather than on minimizing costs today. Successful examples indicate that this approach has a few core characteristics: it requires multiple ppolicy instruments, not one; it involves deeper engagement by the state in low carbon innovation; and goes beyond just the technology itself to elevate the role of social acceptance; and its goals reflect urgency and acceleration. As a result it looks more like industrial policy than environmental policy. That gives us the best chance of leaving a zero-sum world that sets the environment against the economy and embracing an innovation-oriented approach where new possibilities are continuously created and put to use.

Dr. Gregory Nemet is a Professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison's La Follette School of Public Affairs.
His research and teaching focus research focuses on understanding the process of technological change and the ways in which public policy can affect it. He teaches courses in energy systems analysis, policy analysis, and international environmental policy.
